Summary:
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Auto Mechanic specializing in transmission diagnostics and repairs to join our team as a Transmission Technician/Diagnostician and Shop Manager.
In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automatic and manual transmissions while also overseeing the daily operations of the shop.
Responsibilities:
Perform thorough diagnostics on vehicles to identify transmission issues and recommend appropriate repairs.
Conduct comprehensive inspections to ensure the overall functionality and safety of vehicles' transmission systems.
Manage the workflow of the shop, including assigning tasks to technicians, scheduling appointments, and prioritizing repairs based on urgency and customer needs.
Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions in our database system.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in the shop environment.
Train and mentor junior technicians on transmission repair techniques and best practices.
Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure adequate stock availability.
Communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs, costs, and timelines, providing exceptional customer service at all times.
Oversee shop maintenance and cleanliness to create a safe and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in automotive technology is preferred.
Proven experience as an Auto Mechanic specializing in transmission diagnostics and repairs.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex transmission issues.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment, such as scan tools, pressure gauges, and transmission fluid analyzers.
Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to manage a team of technicians effectively.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
